Native American Church Sponsor

Next Ceremony:  September 26th, 2015

The community of Medicinal Mindfulness is grateful for the opportunity to invite our community to participate in a Native American Church Peyote ceremony.  The next one is being held the night of September 26th, 2015.  We were honored to sponsor three meetings in 2014, and another one earlier this year.  Although sometimes difficult, the sacredness of the ceremony cannot be put into words.  No guarantees for a good experience... just a guaranteed “Awesome Ordeal” as one participant described it. 

Previous participants and new members are welcome.  Space is extremely limited, and due to safety awareness, we require an application process and full participation in community building events before and after the ceremony to participate.  There may be a waiting list for this and future events.

Medicinal Mindfulness is a grassroots consciousness organization striving to break down the barriers to legal, safe, accessible and sacred altered states work and intentional psychedelic medicine use.  We have created a new company, Nacaya Services LLC, to handle the logistics of this journey, and to help facilitate these experiences.  "Nacaya" is ancient Sanskrit and means "Causes to Dance."



To ensure our community is supporting the work of the Native American Church we will be collecting donations of $150-$200 from each participant for the Ceremony.  This donation also includes an optional Sweat Lodge Ceremony the following morning.  In addition to this, Medicinal Mindfulness is hosting two gatherings, one before and one after the trip, to provide community support.  The cost for these is an additional $50, and also places you in our community of care throughout the experience. There is also the cost of your trip to the mountains, food, lodging and giveaways.  Total cost is about $300-$500 depending on lodging.  We are invited to stay on the land for free camping, but come prepared if you choose to do so.  You are responsible for your own transportation and lodging.  The location is about 4 hours south west from Boulder, CO.

Due to the additional time it takes to speak with new potential participants, there is a one time $25 application fee to be considered.  Once approved, participants will be added to the waiting list for future events if there is not enough space in the next one.  Potential participants will be told before the application fee is required if there is space in the next ceremony.  The waiting period could be a year or more, but is worth it. 

This program is only for the most serious practitioners.


NAC Introduction/Logistics Meeting Sunday 8/30 3-5pm

This event is required for new participants and highly recommended for participants who have already been to one of our ceremonies so they can share their experience with new journeyers.  We'll go over logistics, answer questions, and discuss safety. We will also discuss risks of participating and go over a waiver that states you understand the risks and take full responsibility for your participation.

Required "Pre/Post" Community Meetings

Due to the intense nature of this experience, and to promote safety and community, we require that everyone attending also participate in a three hour gathering before the trip to discuss our group's intention and logistics work and then afterwards to support integration.  We've found that this sort of community structure and support has been vital in creating a safe and sacred community for our journeyers.  This is required, and the proper mindset is to want to come to these.

Email for registration instructions or to ask questions.  $100 (+$25 first time fee) NONREFUNDABLE deposit is due at Intro Meeting (8/30) to reserve a space. Remainder is due at pre ceremony meeting 9/21. Payable to Nacaya Services LLC.  (Note: Deposit will be refunded if we run out of space to accommodate you.  Your fee will not be refunded if you cannot or choose not to attend the ceremony after committing as this negatively affects the total donation we provide because your space is reserved specifically for you.) Please note: We do not encourage any illegal activities or the use or abuse of cannabis or any other medicine. Nor do we believe that cannabis or other medicine exploration, even within the confines of applicable laws, is appropriate or beneficial for everyone. We are conditional advocates for intentional, sacred and non-habitual cannabis use for those individuals who have chosen to use cannabis already on their own.  A substantial amount of skill development, the right mind set, and an intentional setting are required to minimize the risks involved in the exploration of powerful medicines.  Our work is, at its foundation, a Harm Reduction program.
